파키스탄이 중재에 나서고 미국과 이란이 협상 테이블에 앉은 종전협상이 11일부터 21시간에 걸쳐 진행되었지만 결국은 합의를 하지 못한 것으로 알려졌다.

양측은 핵 프로그램과 호르무즈 해협을 두고 이견의 차가 커 이 종전협상은 마치 링 위에서 두 선수가 만나 주먹을 재보는 것과 유사한 모습이 됐다.

호르무즈 해협 문제가 장기화될 가능성이 보임에 따라 세계 경제의 흐름도 불안정이 계속될 것으로 전문가들은 보았다.

외교와 군사 압박을 병행하는 미국의 전략은 이란의 핵 우라늄 저장과 호르무즈 해협 억제를 두고 이 전쟁이 어느 방향으로 갈려는지 아직은 알 수 없다
