‘무림궁’ 새해 시작 ‘음력설’에 떡국 등 나눔행사 개최

1968년 고(故) 용문 총재가 미국에서 창립해 꾸준히 한인사회와 미국인 사이에서 무예를 가르치며 지역사회를 위해 다양한 문화행사를 주관하며 발전해 온 ‘무림궁’(대표:문아리)이 지난달 2월 17일(음력설), Moorimgoong(MRGMMA) 무림궁에서 한국전통 음식인 떡국 등을 나누는 띠뜻한 행사를 개최해 한국문화를 알리는 전령사로서의 역할을 톡톡히 했다.

특히 참가들들을 위한 선물에는 다양한 생활 가전제품과 행운의 2달러 지폐 등이 있어서 눈길을 끌었다.

이 행사는 백인, 흑인, 히스패닉, 아시아계 등 이웃들이 참가해 서로의 문화와 정보를 나누며인류애의 화합과 발전을 교류하는 행사로 이어졌다.

무림궁은 행복, 건강, 부, 장수를 뜻하는 ‘행·건·부·장’을 교육, 홍보해 왔는데 이날도 축복 나눔 등을 통해 그 의미를 상호 나누었다.

문아리 총재는 “서로 다름 속에서 하나가 되는 것이 우리의 목표”라면서 “믿음과 사랑으로 빛이 되는 나눔을 계속하겠다‘고 무림궁의 역할을 강조했다.

이날 문아리 박사(Grandmaster Ari Moon,Ph.D)와 문소산(David Sosan Moon) 씨가 한국설날 문화보존과 지역사회 화합에 기여한 공로로 캘리포니아 주의회(67지구) 표창장을 수여받았다.
