미국이 새로운 함대 ‘황금 함대(Golden Fleet)’ 개발을 추진해 중국의 위협에 대처할 것으로 전해졌다.

외신에 의하면 백악관은 미 해군 고위 관계자· 전문가들이 “기존 함정 구성을 대체할 함대를 만드는 초기 논의에 들어갔다”고 보도했다.

이 ‘황금 함대’ 프로젝트는 강력한 장거리 미사일을 탑재한 대형 전투함과 소형 호위함 등으로 구성될 것으로 전해졌다.
