근간 그녀가 “제가 사랑하는 많은 여성들과 이 흉터를 공유한다”면서 “지난 15일 발간된 타임 프랑스 창간호를 통해 흉터를 공개했다”고 AFP 통신이 전했다.

그녀는 인터뷰에서 “검진과 치료에 대한 접근성은 재정 상황이나 거주지에 따라 좌우돼서는 안 된다”고 밝혔다.

이러한 공개의 목적은 세계 여성의 암 사망 1위인 유방암에 대해서 유방암 검진에 대한 인식을 알리고자 하는 것으로 알려졌다.

프랑스에서는 2013년 안젤리나 졸리가 유방암 절제술을 받은 이후 검진율이 20% 증가했다는 조사가 있다.
